The status quo is designed to confuse you.

Every small business owner we talk to tells us some version of the same story: they paid a “web guy” five years ago, something eventually broke, and now they can't log in, can't find the invoice, can't remember where the domain is registered, and the web guy is no longer answering emails.

Or: they signed up for a DIY website builder, spent forty hours building something passable, and realized they were paying $40/month forever for a site that was already showing its age.

Or: they hired a “marketing agency” that locked the domain under the agency's own name — leaving the business with no leverage when it was time to switch providers.

We built SnapWorks because none of those stories should be normal. The people making sandwiches, roofing houses, running HOA boards, and driving black cars deserve professional tools without becoming technology experts in the process.

So we built the thing we wished existed: a single company that handles every piece of a small business's web presence — site, domain, email, analytics, Google listings — and hands over the keys so it's always in the client's name. No agency lock-in. No hidden dependencies. No “we'll need to charge for that.”

Four rules we don't break.

These aren't “values” on a wall somewhere. They're operational rules we follow on every project, because ignoring them is how small businesses get burned.

01
You own everything from day one.

Every domain is registered in your name. Every hosting account, Google Workspace license, and Google Business Profile is verified to your business. From the first day of the project — not at launch, not after handover, from day one.

The only difference between our tiers is whose card is on file for the renewals. Starter and Standard clients pay directly. Managed clients let us handle it and reimburse through the monthly fee. Ownership never changes.

02
No jargon. Ever.

We'll never tell you something needs "CNAME propagation" or ask if you want "A records pointed to the new IP." That's our job to know — not yours.

On every call, we explain what's happening in plain English, make a recommendation, and wait for you to say "sounds good." If we ever slip into technical language, call us on it.

03
You see it working before you commit.

Every client gets a live preview link — a real, working version of their new website hosted at a temporary URL — before we point their actual domain at anything. You click through on desktop and mobile. You ask for changes. You approve.

Only then do we flip the DNS. No one gets surprised on launch day. No one has to take our word that "it'll look great once it's live."

04
Flat pricing. Paid up front.

One-time packages are $500 and $1,000. Managed is $500/month plus a $250 setup fee. We accept ACH or credit card, always 100% up front before we start work.

No hourly billing. No "scope change" emails. No invoices you didn't see coming. The price we quote on the first call is the price you pay, period.

What SnapWorks isn't is almost as important.

A lot of web agencies try to be everything to everyone. We're deliberately narrow — and we think the clients we serve get a better result because of it.

We're not a marketing agency.

We don't run ad campaigns, manage your social media, or write content strategy memos. We build the website that makes your marketing work, and stop there.

We don't do "ongoing SEO retainers."

Every site we build has SEO basics baked in — proper structure, speed, mobile, meta tags, sitemaps. For aggressive SEO in a competitive market, we'll refer you to a specialist we trust.

We don't build e-commerce stores.

Shopify and similar platforms are better than what we'd custom-build, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you the wrong thing. If you need a shop, we'll point you at the right tool.

We don't work with templates.

No Wix, no Squarespace, no page builders. Every client gets a site custom-coded for their business — fast, modern, and actually ours to maintain without a monthly platform fee.

We don't hold your assets hostage.

The domain, hosting, and accounts are in your name from day one. If you ever want to leave — even during an active Managed subscription — we help you move, no fees, no friction.

We don't sell what we don't use.

The stack we build on (Next.js, Vercel, Sanity, Google Workspace, Resend) is the same stack we run our own business on. We use it because it's the best tool — not because we get kickbacks.

Here's who we work well with — and who we don't.

We'd rather tell you “we're not the right fit” on the first call than take your money and disappoint you six weeks in.

Great fit

You'll love working with us if...

  • You run a small business, HOA, or community organization — 1 to 50 people
  • You need a real web presence but don't have the time or interest to build it yourself
  • Plain-English communication matters more to you than technical jargon
  • You want to own every piece of your online setup, registered in your name
  • You value a flat, up-front price over hourly billing surprises
  • You need it live in 2–3 weeks, not 6 months of "discovery phases"
Probably not a fit

We're not the right partner if...

  • You need an e-commerce store with product catalogs, inventory, or a cart
  • You need custom apps or complex database-driven functionality beyond a standard website
  • You're a 500-person company with a marketing department and existing agency relationships
  • You want aggressive SEO with monthly keyword reports and link-building
  • You expect to pay in installments or net-30 terms — we're 100% up front only
  • You want to approve every pixel across 12 rounds of revisions
